Last month, two of our team members, Jacqueline Reid, Head of Marketing, Communications and Product Management, and Charlie Urquhart, Product Manager undertook training to gain their operator license.

The three-day training course involved a full first day of getting to grips with the machine. On day one, operating theory, safety and pre-start checks were all completed before the team even set foot in the machine. Days two and three, were spent 100% in the machine, manoeuvring around a mock site with loading and dumping areas. Both Jacqueline and Charlie had plenty of time in the hauler and gained lots of first-hand knowledge. Finally, day four was the all-important test day.

Charlie, is new to the industry so he felt it was incredibly important to get himself up to speed on the physical application of the articulated haulers which he is now well-versed in. With his Engineering background he wanted to better understand the inner workings of the machine and see for himself what it’s like to be an operator!

Jacqueline, on the other hand has been in the industry for several years and as Marketing, Communications and Product Management Director she wanted to build her knowledge of the product, especially when thinking about future developments. From a normal working day in boardroom meetings to getting fully hands on in an operator role, Jacqueline’s commitment to switching up her normal working day shows as a team we truly care about the voice of our customer, which is driven by leaders like her. She’s now hoping to bring this new experience into her role by being able to relate to operators and seeing what can be done to improve their experience!

Congratulations to Jacqueline and Charlie who both passed with flying colours and are now fully qualified articulated hauler operators, we can’t wait to see them both driving a Rokbak hauler!
